It has been a gorgeous summer here in NW Oregon and cyclists are everywhere.
We have been busy out enjoying the sun and saving the world when it occurred to us that it is that time of year again. That’s right! Come out and ride with us for the annual charity fundraiser century benefiting local Out to Pasture Animal Sanctuary in Estacada, Oregon; an animal rescue and no-kill sanctuary that partners with many other organizations to ensure that animals are treated with kindness and compassion.
In 2013, I organized the ride as “Pedaling for the Pasture” after participating in my first organized century in 2012. It was an amazing experience and the riders, volunteers and supporters raised over $26k for three very deserving animal sanctuaries. I contacted the organizers of that event in 2013 with much anticipation only to find that they were taking a break that year. Crestfallen, I realized that the animal sanctuaries can’t take a break as well. My ambitions weren’t nearly as high as $20k. My goal was $1000 and I ended up raising $1255 for Out to Pasture Sanctuary.
During Pedaling for the Pasture, I had the honor of riding with several members of the Monkeywrench Bicycle Club. And this year? MWBC is organizing the ride! So whether you want to ride with us or just want to support this fantastic charity, connect with us on our Facebook page, and donate today!
